About the Shop

Meet Rudy Noureddin

He’s 71, he’s run his Houston shop for about 30 years, and people drive across town to have him work on their cars.

Rudy is 71 and has no plans to retire. He’s run his Houston shop for about 30 years and worked on cars for longer than that. He learned on cars that had no computers.

He hooks your car up to the computer, then picks up the stethoscope. He finds problems other shops miss, and he’s the one people call when the dealer can’t say what’s actually wrong.

Honest to a fault

Rudy doesn’t sell work you don’t need. He saves you money on parts when he can and is fair on labor. If a repair doesn’t make sense, he’ll tell you, even when it means a smaller bill.

His customers stay. Plenty of them drive 45 minutes, past a lot of other shops, to get here.

Classic and modern cars

Rudy diagnoses a classic by ear, with a timing light and a vacuum gauge. On a new car he uses a scan tool and a meter to trace the electrical fault nobody else could find. Either way, he finds what’s wrong and then fixes it.

A working family shop

There’s always a car in the bay and something going on. The waiting room is plain.

Two big, loud, colorful macaws live at the shop, and a couple of alley cats wander through. Rudy’s son works alongside him and will carry the shop forward.
