Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need a new transmission?
Maybe not. A bad sensor, a solenoid, low or burnt fluid, or a wiring problem can all make a healthy transmission act up. Rudy checks those first. If it does need a rebuild, he'll show you what he found.
What are the signs of transmission trouble?
Slipping (the engine revs but the car doesn't pick up speed), hard or late shifts, a burning smell, red fluid under the car, or a transmission warning light. Get it checked early, while the fix is still small.
How much does transmission repair cost?
Anywhere from a few hundred dollars for a fluid service or a solenoid to much more for a rebuild. Rudy diagnoses it first and gives you the price before any work starts.
Should I service my transmission fluid?
Yes, on the schedule in your owner's manual, and with the exact fluid your transmission calls for. The wrong fluid can cause shifting problems.
